Well, I'm a little late in posting about Christmas
but I'm going to cheat and pre-date this.
Otherwise, when I one day do my
blurb books everything will be confused!
We had a happy little Christmas
and it was especially fun to get to celebrate with Jack Jack.
Even though he doesn't get it it seems so much more magical with a child.
My brother, Ryan, & his wife, Rachel, came to visit from Provo.
It was so much fun to have them here!
Also. We really needed them to come so Ryan could organize the presents under the tree.
Nobody does it quite like he does.
It's weird but it's tradition.
We started our celebrations on Christmas Eve at the annual Wallace Christmas Eve party.
It was a fun night filled with lots of delicious food
[and my mother-in-law's delectable homemade cookies!]
fun & games
and a cute nativity play put on by our nieces & nephews
This picture is definitely stolen from my SIL's blog.
Thanks, Alyson :]
After our first Christmas Eve party we headed over to my grandparents' house to say hello.
It's a much smaller party with my grandparents, aunt, and my immediate family.
Normally we only go to the one Christmas Eve party
but since the second party was still going on after the first party ended
we decided we'd swing by for a few games of Skip-Bo
& Grandma's famous peanut butter chocolate bars.
Jack Jack & Great-Grandpa Davis are quite fond of each other.
He also spent some time playing with Great-Aunt Susan
and enjoyed all the tickling :]
{4 generations}
Per [our brand new!] family tradition, Jack Jack got to open a present on Christmas Eve after all our partying.
He got a fun crinkly soft book that he just loves!
We love the tradition of opening a gift on Christmas Eve but didn't want to do pajamas
because it seems like that's what everybody & their moms do.
[Don't get me wrong, it's such a cute & fun idea.
We just wanted to do something different.]
So we chose books.
The first year was a success!
Santa came during the night and brought lots of fun toys!
A new trampoline for Jamie & Chris
that I'm so excited to use once my knee is all healed up.
Battle of the Sexes for Ryan & Rachel...
it's so fun!
A visor for golfing for T.
Makeup and jewelry for me.
Singing caterpillar tummy time toy
& a giraffe bath towel
for Jack Jack
[oh. and some new binkies and teething toys in Jack's stocking.]
We had a yummy breakfast of breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, & hot cocoa.
My grandparents & aunt came over for that
and opened their presents from the grandkids.
Later in the morning we exchanged gifts at home.
Jack Jack mostly only liked the wrapping paper.
Aunt Jamie got Jack Jack a 49ers sleeper.
Being that Daddy is a Raiders fan, wearing any 49ers paraphernalia is a big no-no.
Being the die-hard 49ers fan she is, Aunt Jai just couldn't resist.
Needless to say, this has been returned.
Ignoring that my arms look like they're half missing
and my face is weird...
look at my stack of presents!
It was taller than me even though it doesn't look like it in this picture.
Jai & T super spoiled me.
Jai loved all her presents from Laurin.
...even her gypsy necklace.
Just kidding, it really is cute.
You just have to unclasp it first. Jamie didn't know that. Ha.
He's shocked that we would get him drugs.
Chris was really excited about his remote control helicopter
even though I'm pretty sure he only played with it for the first week after Christmas.
I haven't seen it since.
R&R
Jai
Mom got a new phone - the Samsung Galaxy S3 she has been begging for.
She was very surprised and loves it.
How do I have zero pictures of T?
Probably because he was sitting next to me and that's an awkward angle for a picture.
And nobody else in this family believes in cameras.
Or so it seems.
Well. He got plenty of loot including a brand new, spiffy leather laptop/brief case for work.
I was spoiled rotton and got everything on my wish list.
Mint green jeans. Check. Nude lipstick. Check. Mascara. Check. Stud earrings. Check. Red blazer. Check. Cute loose tops. Check. Skinny belts. Check. H&M gift card. Check. Charlotte Russe giftcard for jewelry. Check.
I loved everything. Jamie & the hubby both have a great sense of style.
In the afternoon we headed to the Wallace's to spend time with the other side of the family.
I got an h&m giftcard
which I'm proud to say still has some money remaining on it..but just a few dollars :]
Tom got a lightning adaptor for his i5.
Jack Jack got soft building blocks that make crinkly & jingly sounds.
I think it's safe to say they are his absolute new favorite toy.
He also got the cutest jammies from his cousin, Kimberly.
He had only one pair of pajamas that fit going into Christmas.
Now he has seven thanks to Kimberly & Grandma and Grandpa Davis.
One for every night of the week and it's perfect!
Jack loves spending time with his cousins.
They love him, too.
Claire & Faith took turns holding him as soon as we got to the Wallace's.
This little boy sure is spoiled with love!
For dinner we headed to my mom's sister's house
where we celebrated Christmas night with cousins.
We played Battle of the Sexes
[the boys won both times. ugh.]
and the boys played Seinfeld trivia.
My grandma gave her children old pictures on CD
of them as children
and their grandparents/cousins/aunts/uncles, etc.
She also included two DVDs of home videos.
We spent time watching those, laughing and totally loving seeing our parents as little tots!
They had never seen the videos before and it was such a special gift!
Grandma made us a hanging dish towel (I hope for one every year!)
and also a crocheted washrag.
My grandmother is so talented!
Jack Jack got some cute clothes & shoes.
I have no pictures from the night except for this one of Rachel
wearing her new scarf from Kelli.
Isn't she cute?
We had a super fun night and a fabulous Christmas.
Let's do it again in 2013 :]
