Christmas Lights

Tonight we [finally!] went out to see Christmas lights!
We went with my mom & dad, Jamie & Chris, and Ryan & Rachel.
First, we stopped by the Fab 40s in Sacramento.
How have I lived in Sacramento 19 years and never known how beautiful the homes are in this part of Sacramento?
I spent most of my time admiring the beautiful houses while everyone else admired the lights.
Seriously though...I told T that I really want to live here one day!
Too bad they start at a million dollars.
My iPhone camera just doesn't do these houses justice but you can get a little peek:

Pillars and all! And the red door! And the balcony!
Who wouldn't want to live here!?

So they have lights strung across the street.
Isn't that so cool?
It looks so magical when you drive down.

A little historic information for you, taken directly from my favorite source...Wikipedia!

"The Fab Forties neighborhood is part of the East Sacramento district. President Ronald Reagan lived at 1341 45th Street while serving most of his term as Governor of California.[1] The "Fab '40s" is the historic terminus of a once extensive streetcar network that covered nearly all the historic neighborhoods of the city. Forty-sixth street at J Street was the turnaround point for the J Street Line making it one of the widest streets in East Sacramento. The lots between 38th and 46th Streets and bordered by J Street and Folsom Boulevard are among the largest in East Sacramento, creating the concentration of larger houses that gave rise to the area's name. Up until the Great Depression, the grand homes of the "Fab '40s" were considered to be the modern day equivalent of a suburban mansion. Now they are considered architecturally spectacular large to mid-sized houses in a very pricey location."

After the Fab 40s we went to Dovewood Ct which is famous for their insane amount of lights.
Every house is completely decked out.

These cute little things sing and their mouths move along with the song.
I tried to add a video but I don't think it's working...

This is Antarctica, I guess...

Whoville!

These is even a "who-bell" you can ring!

This is Margarita-ville

I guess the theme here is Landmarks.
It was a little bit random.

Nativity.

Can you read this sign?
It says
"Happy Holidays.
Merry Christmas"
LOVE.

This house has Santa's workshop all built out in their garage!
It was so detailed.
I can't even imagine the time it would take to do this.

Jack Jack was a little angel the whole time...
even when we got rained on a little bit.

So...this is the line of cars waiting to enter the court.
AHHH!

And this is a view from where we parked [to walk to the court]
of all the cars waiting!
Seriously...the court is all the way up past the last car you can see.

A few weeks ago there was a house for sale on this court.
We considered looking at it but it went pending within a few hours before we even had a chance.
After we saw this traffic
we decided we would definitely not want to live anywhere near Dovewood Ct.
It's atrocious!
You would not be able to leave your house at night any time during December...
or plan to stay out all night.

We had such a good time looking at lights with the fam!
We can't wait until next year when Jack will be old enough to like it!
