What We Wear Wednesday [Maternity Series]

So it's pretty obvious I love my mint green jeggings
since I wear them ALL the time...
so it's a good thing I just bought maternity ones!
$12.99 online at JCP. Score.
I just got word today that they arrived for me to pick up in-store.
Right now I still fit into my regular jeggings but I'm so excited to get my maternity ones for the future!
Anyway...I told you about that because my outfit today included my mint green jeggings. Of course.

- Marci -
Top: H&M ($7.50!)
Cardi: H&M ($5!)
[If you can fit into Target Girls' section clothes...] similar
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Jeggings: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Target

*Note: If you live near an H&M, sign up for their emails if only to be informed of when their "Additional 50% off Sale Items" sale happens. Seriously, the best sale ever.  T & I hit up H&M in Walnut Creek on our anniversary getaway (post about that to come) and I got like 13 pieces (including some maternity, and some things not on sale) for less than $70! I will definitely be at H&M for every future 50% off sale sale.

- Jack Jack -
Polo: H&M
Shorts: The Children's Place
Too bad you can't really see them that well because they are so cute with little Hawaiian looking flowers patterned on them. We just got them from Jack's older cousin and I LOVE them.

Oh.
And your 15.5 week bump picture.

Note: None of these clothes are specifically maternity, FYI.
But we'll get there one day.
For now, I'm loving loose-fitting, flowy shirts.

Happy Wednesday!

Playroom: Before & After

For awhile T & I couldn't decide what we wanted to get Jack Jack for his birthday.
We knew we didn't want to just buy him a random toy even though I'm sure there are plenty out there he'd love.
We wanted to get him a new Sandra Boynton book but also wanted to get him something else.
And then less than a week before his birthday I had the best idea!
A playroom!
We have no rooms in the house that are completely Jack-proof.
I even have to watch him in his own room because he pulls all his clothes out of the dresser.
We had a huge unused room at the front of our house [that we haven't touched since we bought the house] that would make the perfect playroom.
So we decided to use Jack's birthday money to paint and decorate and transform it.
We are loving how it turned out and Jack is in heaven with his brand new playroom!

BEFORE

AFTER

Obviously it's still pretty empty because Jack has a really limited number of toys
[on purpose, mind you].
But one day we plan to have a little table and chairs in the middle of the room
and maybe even a futon/reading nook one day.
The futon will double as a place for guests.
Because who wouldn't want to stay in the playroom?
Duh.

Jack Jack put the space to good use right away.
Before I had even finished haha.

So, so happy to have a completely Jack-proof [and comfy - it's the only room in the house with carpet!] place for this little boy to play all day.
He already loves it in there.

Jack's 1st Birthday!

I cannot even believe my little baby turned 1 on Thursday!
Where has the time gone?!
I almost cried like 5 times but somehow managed to hold back the tears.

We started the day off with a bath which Jack loves!

But then the morning turned sour really quickly.
Jack was super tired and had a big meltdown while getting dressed.

Poor birthday boy!
Luckily he was back to his happy self after a good morning nap.

Daddy had the car at work all day so our plan was to hang out at home most of the day
but Grandma & Grandpa Davis invited us to lunch at Leatherby's!
They even sang Happy Birthday to Jack Jack and gave him his own ice cream with a candle!
Jack was pretty mad when everyone else at the table had ice cream besides him.

But pretty soon they brought out his ice cream.

He wasn't so sure what to think about the candle and everyone in the restaurant singing happy birthday to him.
He cried right after we blew the candle out haha.
But I just really quickly put a spoonful of ice cream in his mouth and that fixed it.

When Daddy got home from work we had a family birthday bash for Jack.
Cupcakes, ice cream, and presents.

He wore the birthday hat I made for like three seconds.
Not even enough time to get a decent picture. Boo.

Jack cried after we blew out the candle on his cupcake...again.
But then he was okay once he got to eat it haha.

This kid was the cleanest cupcake eater ever.
He would just dip his finger in the icing and lick it off.
Until all the icing was gone.
Then he just looked at the cupcake until I broke it into pieces for him.
So much for the classic first birthday cake-face.
That is just not his style haha.

It was like an hour and a half past bedtime by the time we opened presents
so Jack was SO tired
and mostly threw a fit the whole time.
But he did like the money.

and I could not get that shape sorter toy out of the box fast enough for him.

And Jack's great big present this year?
A brand new playroom!
Before & After pictures coming soon :]

After presents Jack Jack had a grand time playing with his cousins in his new playroom.

By the time everybody had gone home poor little Jack was so pooped and ready for bed.
But before I could put him down I had to have some snuggle time with my not-so-baby anymore.

Jack Jack has easily made this the best year of our lives.
He brings us so much joy and makes us laugh every day.
He is seriously the absolute sweetest little babe.
I can't even remember what life was like before him.
We are loving watching him learn & grow every day
but I'm hoping he doesn't grow up too fast.
Don't you wish they could stay little forever?

Goodnight, my sweet little one-year-old.

Another post to come on things Jack is up to at 1 year old.
and we're celebrating more as a little family today since Daddy had to work on Jack's birthday all day.
So more pictures of our sweet little birthday boy to come.
